Introduction to the Chakras Workshop
The word Chakra is Sanskrit for “wheel”. It is believed in Yogic philosophy that there are 7 energy “wheels” or energy centers located along the spine of the body. Each chakra is associated with particular physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our being. The chakras are a roadmap of our subtle and physical bodies starting at the base of the spine with basic, human needs toward more energetic and spiritual aspirations. When the chakras become “imbalanced” they can affect our energy levels, and our whole interaction with the world we live in. Each chakra has a theme, intention, and color associated with it. The chakra model offers an approach to integration in the entire being, unifying the physical, emotional, and spiritual. Yoga postures, pranayama, mudras (hand gestures), and light chants are tools for opening, aligning, and balancing the chakras. Chakra practice is a key foundation of Yoga.
In this workshop you will introduced to all 7 chakras as a system for self-healing, and overall well being. This workshop is part lecture and mostly practice. All Levels are welcome.
