Whether it is due to injury, tension, inflammation or generalized aging, low back, hip, sciatica and sacroiliac pains are experienced by almost everyone at some point in their life. It can range from a slight annoyance; an occasional flare up; or debilitating, constant pain. It can be hard to find the right balance of safe activity and inactivity when faced with these conditions. The use of yoga to address many conditions, including low back pain, is being more and more recognized as a sought after alternative to the opioid and pain pill crisis.
This workshop will feature:
• Yoga poses and stretches to directly address pain
• Postural alignment and daily life tips for healthy back, sacrum and hips.
• Overview of different types of back pain and injuries.
• Strengthening techniques to address symptoms and pain.
• Adjustments to common yoga practices to safely modify positions to protect your spine, hips and sacrum during yoga, even with past injuries.
• Empower you to feel confident with safe adaptions to do yoga at home, in private lessons or in group classes
• Introduce breathing, meditation and rest techniques, to help cope with pain and improve daily living.
